As part of our Design and Technology this term, year 1 and 2 will be visiting the nursing home in small groups to cook various different items with them.
Last week, a group of year 1 children went to the nursing home to prepare an apple crumble for the residents lunch. The children have already learnt in school how to cut safely, grate and peel a variety of fruit and vegetables and were delighted to share their skills with the residents.
It was a real joy to see this inter-generational activity take place. A huge thank you to the nursing home staff and residents, who as always, welcomed us so warmly.
