This morning, our Year 6 Sports Leaders led a Diamond Cricket session for Elder Class, and what a wonderful morning it was!
The Sports Leaders began by working with four groups, coaching the children on their batting and fielding skills. They then organised two large games of Diamond Cricket, with the children split into three batting teams. The Sports Leaders took responsibility for the bowling, umpiring, scoring and overall organisation of the games, running everything flawlessly and providing the Year 4 pupils with a truly fantastic experience.
The standard of play was excellent throughout, with great teamwork, enthusiasm and sportsmanship on display from all the children!
At the end of the session, the Sports Leaders presented awards to those who had impressed them with their effort and attitude during the games. Awards were given to Yahya and Vanya for their outstanding skills, Bay for his helpfulness, Ava and Harvey for their perseverance, Louisa for her excellent sportsmanship, Cal for being the Star Hitter, and Briony for being named ‘Person of the Game’.
