Acorn Class Enjoys Roves Farm

What an exciting day we had on our class trip to Roves Farm!

We started the morning with a bumpy tractor ride around the farm, stopping to feed the pigs before quickly jumping back on board to escape a sudden rain shower. Luckily, the rain didn’t last long, and we were soon back outside getting creative. Using sticks, grass, acorn shells and other natural materials we found nearby, we worked together to build houses for mice – or even a “rat flat!” The children showed fantastic teamwork, making sure their mice had comfortable places to sleep, somewhere to sit, and even gardens and garages! We were also lucky enough to find a snake skin, which Ricky carefully picked up and showed us.

In the afternoon, we enjoyed some parachute games before gathering to listen to The Very Hungry Caterpillar – Ricky’s special version! We then visited the piglets and watched them feeding from their mum. The children loved stroking the rabbits and guinea pigs, feeding the goats, and heading off on a minibeast hunt. We also managed to fit in some time in the indoor play barn and the outdoor treehouse play area.

A huge thank you to the wonderful Ricky, who looked after us throughout the day and made sure we had the very best time. We all had an unforgettable visit to Roves Farm and came home with lots of happy memories!
