In Science this term, we have been exploring plants. We have been investigating the life cycle of a plant, learning about photosynthesis, and identifying the different parts of a plant.
This afternoon, we asked ourselves whether plants need water to survive. To find out, we set up an experiment by planting two sunflower seeds. One seed will be watered regularly, while the other will not receive any water. Over the coming weeks, we will carefully observe and record our findings.
We also discussed how to ensure our investigation is a fair test. To do this, we planted each seed 1.5 cm deep, used the same amount of soil in each pot, made sure both plants receive the same amount of light and ensure they are kept at the same temperature.
We are looking forward to seeing the results of our experiment over the coming weeks!
