Welcome to Acorn class!

We love exploring our outdoor area and using it to be creative. We make dinosaur worlds with bricks, large pebbles and sand. Also, we make our own obstacle courses with wooden planks and milk crates. Sometimes we use the guttering to race cars – or water – down the bank; or even dress up and act out stories. We have a sand pit, a digging area and a mud kitchen so we can get quite mucky!

Inside we love to build in the construction corner, create new worlds with the train track, design and make things in our creative workshop, paint, draw or read quietly!

We love learning through our play and becoming confident, independent and resilient making new friends on the way. As a whole class we often sing and dance and we practise our maths and phonics every day. Every week we visit the Forest where can climb trees and whizz down the mud slide.

We like playing with the older children and making ‘big’ friends in the school and we are proud of our four houses, earning house points each week by being helpful and kind.
