Curated Courses
St Michael’s is a thriving primary school in North Wiltshire.
We have an established model of continuous provision throughout KS1 as well as high quality teaching and learning throughout the school delivered by experienced teachers.
We offer a flexible model to suit the needs of your school and team.
We could support you and your team with the following:
- Consistent classroom environments to support children’s learning in line with the latest research on cognitive load
- Embedded approach to continuous provision through reception and KS1
- Rigorous teaching of reading using approaches such as ‘Just Reading’ and ‘Echo Reading’
- High quality teaching and learning throughout the school
- Coaching model to support professional development
- Clear curriculum planning supported by knowledge webs
We offer a flexible model to suit the needs of your school and team.
For example, it could include a morning focusing on teaching and learning followed by an afternoon of curriculum planning. The day could start with a presentation on the latest research we have used to inform our approaches and then your team could split into year specific parts of the school. We look forward to discussing different options with you and if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to get in touch.
Kind Words
“I was struck by how the children all knew what they were doing, the ways in which they were engaging with one another to make things and develop ideas. The environment enabled pupils to explore, talk, make things with an easy purposefulness that was very striking. The level of research, planning and thinking to develop this quality of provision is exceptional.” Mary Myatt, Education Adviser and Author
“The reading strategies used at St Michael’s are quite superb, skillfully blending teacher modelling and whole class choral response, reading engaging texts, with structured follow-up activities building confidence with vocabulary. Children engage in multiple phases of pair talk to discuss and construct sentences using ambitious vocabulary based on the texts, scaffolded so that all children are able to succeed. There were so many wonderful examples. If you get the chance, go and take a look!” Tom Sherrington, Education Consultant
“Leaders are rightly proud of their bespoke curriculum. It clearly reflects the vision of a ‘lifetime love for learning’. Leaders’ curriculum decisions are wisely informed by extensive educational research. This means that pupils thrive because lessons are exciting and challenging. Classrooms are inviting spaces that inspire pupils and showcase their achievements. The school’s approach to continuous provision in Reception and Key Stage 1 is particularly impressive.” SIAMS Report 2024
