Braeside Day Three: Canoeing and Climbing

Day three of our Braeside adventure was another brilliant one. Determination, teamwork, courage, resilience – so many amazing qualities on show once again today!

It was another early start and there were definitely many tired children this morning. It was a special day for some though as we celebrate Anna and Molly’s birthday today and Zia, whose birthday is tomorrow – Happy Birthday, girls! We packed our bags and stripped the beds, stopping for a quick dance to some of Mr Everitt and Mr Pavey’s (questionable) music choices. Alexander very kindly took the time to teach Liv a few skills on the piano too!

Once again, we enjoyed a delicious breakfast: pain au chocolat – yum! The room inspectors made their rounds once again. A few sweet wrappers and lost socks aside, they were very impressed by how tidy and organised the children all were!

We split up into our groups and our morning was full of canoeing and climbing once again. We pushed ourselves to the top of the pole and for many, it was a first time venturing into the water. We discovered some true mariners today! Willow, Olivia and Jessica definitely prefer dry land however, and chose to hide in a tree rather than face the treacherous waters of the canal…

We had our final lunch together at Braeside, which included some absolutely delicious birthday cakes. After a final run around, it was time to get back on the bus and head back to Aldbourne.

Rowan Class, it has been a pleasure to take you on your first residential. You have been an absolutely brilliant group of awesome humans! Sleep well this weekend!
