London Calling….!

We had the most amazing experience in London last week and our Y6 children were the best ambassadors for school that we could have wished for!  From engaging sensibly and politely with members of the public on train journeys to supporting and looking our for each other throughout the day – it was such a pleasure to share this experience with them. A special thanks should also go to our awesome volunteers who were just amazing as we toured around London!

Having worked out what tubes and routes we needed to take in a geography lesson in class, we hopped on trains and made our way to the Twist Museum on Oxford St. It was such a interesting place where science, curiosity and art come together to help children think about how we perceive the world. After this we headed to St. James’ Park for a picnic lunch before walking to the Houses of Parliament via Horse Guards Parade, Whitehall and Downing St. It was brilliant to learn about the history of the Houses of Parliament and to see it ‘in session’ – it was such a cool experience to watch MP’s and Lords debating various issues. After meeting with our local MP Danny Kruger, and asking him some challenging questions, we then wandered up to Buckingham Palace for a little more sight-seeing before heading back to Paddington on the circle line where we finally jumped on our train back to Hungerford! We certainly made the most of our day exploring our capital city!
