Hazel Class have had a fantastic start to the term! They have settled in brilliantly and are already living up to their name as our Happy Hazels. It has been wonderful to see the children coming into school each day with big smiles, enthusiasm and a real eagerness to learn.
In History, we have begun our exciting topic on the Great Fire of London. We discovered that Samuel Pepys’ diary is a fantastic historical source and enjoyed finding out about the events of 1666 through his eyes.
In Art, we started the term by exploring the work of artist Molly Haslund. We took our learning outside and headed up to the playground, where the children used chalk to create some huge spirals. Working collaboratively, they experimented with a wonderful mixture of colours to create some fantastic large-scale designs. It was lovely to see the children sharing ideas, working together and having fun with their artwork.
We are so proud of the wonderful start Hazel Class have made and are looking forward to all the exciting learning and adventures still to come this term!
