Braeside Day One – an amazing first day

We are so, SO proud of Rowan class after their incredible first day at Braeside. What amazing, supportive, kind and respectful humans they have all proven themselves to be!

It was with great excitement that we jumped on the bus and made our way to Braeside. Our first activity was a town trail. In our different groups, we navigated with great skill around Devizes and answered questions all about the history of the town. We learnt about portcullises, railway tunnels and houses hundreds of years old. Great investigating, Rowan Class.

After lunch, we headed to our first adventurous activities. While one half of the class tackled the climbing pole, the others headed to the canal and tried their hand at canoeing. Fear of heights were conquered and a few reluctant water sportsmen and women did an amazing job giving everything a go. There are lots of very proud Year 5 children today.

We enjoyed a delicious meal before our evening activity: the nightline. The woods were alive with the sound of children guiding their friends around a very slippery, hilly path. The adults, from St Michaels and Braeside were blown away by how helpful the children all were. Our day finished with a delicious hot chocolate and some quiet time to reflect on just how awesome Year 5 have all been. An incredible first day!
