Acorn Class has loved being back in the forest, especially with the sunshine on our side! The children have been building their connection with nature by learning to recognise an elder tree and hearing some folklore about Mother Elder. After respectfully asking Mother Elder’s permission to take some wood, they used small hacksaws (with support) to cut pieces of elder, which they then peeled and decorated.
There’s been plenty of active play too—climbing, swinging, and running through the trees—while others got creative in the mud kitchen, making all sorts of imaginative creations. A wonderful mix of learning, creativity, and outdoor fun!
