As part of our RE unit on Special Places, Acorn Class have been learning about why the church is special for Christians. We looked at lots of churches and noticed they were all different outside. Then we looked at the different things you might see inside a church such as the cross, the font, the alter, the pulpit and stained glass windows and what they were used for and why they were important. We discussed why the church is a special place and after visiting St Michael’s Church, the children were inspired to make their own stained glass windows.
