This week, children have been celebrating Chinese New Year in Acorn Class. They have learnt the story of Chinese New Year, made a dragon and lanterns, dressed up and even wrote good luck messages in Chinese. Suxia kindly popped in to see the class and helped them to make tiger mask in celebration of the year of the tiger.
Willows after school club also joined in the Chinese New Year festivities, making lanterns, listening to traditional music and being fortunate to enjoy a delicious Chinese meal, made by Suxia. Thank you, Suxia, for sharing your culture with us.
Roman Day – Elder & Cherry Classes – New date 15th February
On Tuesday 15th February, Elder and Cherry classes will be holding a Roman Day in school. To make the day really exciting, we would like children to come to school dressed up. A simple search online will help you with some ideas to design the outfit from things you have at home, please do not feel you have to go out and buy a costume.
Height and Weight Checks
Children in Acorn & Oak class had their Height and Weight Checks this week. The School Nursing team will post letters directly to parents regarding the results, over the next couple of weeks.
Lunch-time Assistant Vacancy
The school are currently recruiting a Lunch-time Assistant to work 1 hour a day, ideally 5 days a week (term time only). Please find further details attached. Please do reach out to us even if you are able to work 1 or 2 lunch-times a week.
