St. Michael’s Weekly Post – 21st January 2022

It has been another chilly week outside and the children have been wrapped up warm, in their hats and gloves, busy experimenting with ice outside. Children in Rowan class have been looking at different sketching techniques and writing an introduction to their Viking myths.

This week we have had a number of volunteers come in to hear children read, which we greatly appreciate and believe this will pay great dividends. If you would also like to volunteer, even as a one off, please contact the school office.

Roman Day – Elder & Cherry Classes
Elder and Cherry classes will be holding a Roman Day in school on Tuesday 1st February. To make the day really exciting, we would like children to come to school dressed up. A simple search online will help you with some ideas to design the outfit from things you have at home, please do not feel you have to go out and buy a costume.

We have a number of school trips planned over the next few months with letters containing further detail to follow. Here is an indication of our planned trips:

Parent Governor Elections
We are looking for a new Parent Governor to join our fantastic board of Governors. To nominate yourself as a Parent Governor please complete the form, sent out on Tuesday, to be returned by Tuesday 1st February 2022 (not 1st March stated in the original letter). Willows request for play equipment
If you have any play equipment that you would like to pass on, Willows would gratefully receive items such as, outdoor games (scooters, helmets, skipping ropes, etc.), board games, playing cards, crafts and they would really love a dolls house. Thank you in advance.

Lunch-time Assistant Vacancy
The school are currently recruiting a Lunch-time Assistant to work 1 hour a day, ideally 5 days a week (term time only). Please find further details attached. Please do reach out to us even if you are able to work 1 or 2 lunch-times a week.
