17th September 2021
It was a very special moment this morning to see the whole school set off on their trip to “We the Curious”. We would like to thank all our parent volunteers whose help has made this trip possible. We are looking forward to hearing all the stories from the day when they are back in school.
It has been lovely to be able to welcome parents back on to our playground at collection time and to see all those familiar faces again. Just a reminder, please only come to the front door of school to visit the school office – access to the playground is along Pre-school path to the back track and on to the playground or through our St Michael’s Close gate to the back track and on to the playground. We would also remind you to leave scooters and bikes at the gates and to not bring dogs on to the school site. Thank you for your continued support.
Celebration Assembly – Friday 1st October 2.40pm
All parents are invited to join us in the school hall for our celebration Assembly.
Trips & payments
We are so lucky to be able to take the children out of school on educational trips again this term. We would like to apologise for the short notice of some trips. It has been a very busy time waiting for the up to date guidance before being able to contact venues and make all the arrangements whilst ensuring the safety of all children and staff. We understand that the short notice may have given some of you concerns over paying for the trips. If you are concerned about payment of any trips please contact Mrs Lipscombe or Mrs Hamilton who will be happy to help by setting up payment plans or extending deadlines. Our aim is for all children to enjoy our trips so please contact us confidentially if you would like to discuss payments.

Marlborough LitFest – Classes Rowan & Oak – Friday 1st October
We will be leaving school at 9.45am for a 10.30am start in Marlborough at the Town Hall. We aim to leave Marlborough at 12noon to return to school. We will need volunteer drivers for transport to and from this event. If you are DBS checked and would be able to help with transport, please contact the office. Thank you for your support.
Free School Meals – Reminder
Please find attached details regarding free school meal eligibility. If you are in receipt of one of the mentioned benefits we would really appreciate you completing the appropriate form for the child’s year group (also attached) and returning it to Mrs Hamilton (sbm@stmichaelsaldbourne.co.uk), even if your child brings in a packed lunch.
Recycle your crisp packets
We are continuing to recycle crisp packets in school to prevent them from ending up in landfill. This not only helps the environment but also helps us to raise funds for the community and the school. The School Council have put a special crisp recycling bin in the school hall.
