Rowan Class had a wonderful afternoon in the forest today!
With the sun shining and the birds singing, we headed up to the woods for an afternoon of outdoor cooking. While some children got busy climbing trees, running around the forest and building up an appetite, others helped prepare our delicious meal by chopping vegetables for a big vegetable chilli feast.
And what a feast it was! Everyone enjoyed large bowls of chilli with fresh crusty bread, sour cream, cheese and even extra chillies on top. Some children were very brave and added quite a few extra chillies — phew! After our hearty meal, some children even had room for hot chocolate and a biscuit to finish!
We expect our resident robin, Seamus, will be very pleased to find any leftover crumbs from our forest feast!
What a wonderful way to end a busy week at school – enjoying nature, good food and time with our friends!
