Raising money and awareness for Sport Relief has been great fun today. Sport Relief work to inspire the nation through a shared love of sport to change lives for the better. Thank you Ridgeway House Captains for organising holding such an active day and holding a great assembly this morning. Children have been taught a dance routine and played sit down dodgeball.
On Monday, a group of children from Elder Class represented St Michael’s at a cricket festival. We were thrilled that the children all tried their absolute best, so much, so, St Michael’s won! Well done cricketers.
Yesterday, Hazel and Birch Classes went on a trip to Cotswold Wildlife Park. The children had an amazing day and came back full of animal facts, including the potential length of a rattlesnake and the wingspan of a fruit bat. The weather stayed dry and they had a wonderful trip.
Over the last few days, the whole school have been to visit the Brown Family Farm to meet the lambs. Several classes were fortunate enough to see a ewe give birth, what an incredible experience for the children. We are so fortunate to have wonderful neighbours to invite us to the farm. Thank you Brown Family.
Request from Acorn Class
Acorn Class are learning about people who are important in our community such as police officers, nurses and firefighters and wonder if any of our parents, or their wider family would be interested in coming to school to talk about the their work. We can be flexible with dates so any time April – June would be wonderful.
OPAL updates…
Recently we have re-built and opened the tee-pee on the school field to create a quiet and enclosed space for children who wish to spend some time chilling out in there. Next week we will be introducing tarpaulins to playtimes so children can design and create shelters/dens on the bank.
