Year 6 at Rockley – Day 3: Another Wet and Wild Day!

If yesterday’s weather was pretty bad, today was on another level! 45mph winds and heavy rain put paid to activities on the sea however, we still had an awesome day!

We started the day by giving The Birthday Boy a ‘happy birthday’ wake up call! After a hearty breakfast we headed down to the beach shack to begin activities. We had such a giggle during The Rockley Quiz – complete with some hilariously creative skits from different groups! Next up was a boat building challenge – we’ll be testing these on the sea tomorrow. After that we enjoyed a wet and wild walk on the beach – we were literally drenched! To ease the frustration of the weather, we managed to get ourselves a session at the holiday park swimming pool where children (and teachers!) LOVED the huge slide and playing in the pool with friends. Before dinner the world famous room inspectors arrived on the south coast to ensure rooms were looking (and smelling) good! I have to say, there were some impressively tidy rooms! After dinner we finished our day with Rockley Rocks – an interactive and rather loud music quiz! The weather is finally turning and we are looking forward to spending all day tomorrow and Friday morning out on the ocean! The instructors here have been super helpful at changing our timetable to ensure we still get to do all the water-based activities that were planned!
