We started the day with the frustrating news that the near gale-force winds meant we couldn’t head out on the water today – safety first! Instead, we donned our waterproofs and headed to our base on the beach. Here we had such fun playing games and problem solving whilst embracing high-winds and the odd downpour! Sometimes those whole-class team games are just the best and today was an example of that: seeing all the children supporting each other, compromising and showing empathy towards one another was such a special moment. After lunch it was time for a hike! We headed out towards the cliffs, wondering through a beautiful (if rather grey!) nature reserve. With great views of Brownsea Island to our left, we walked along the coastal path towards Poole. We stopped to enjoy some fun in the park – Miss Gandolfo and Mrs Maslin enjoying it more than most – before continuing our walk back to Rockley. Team Oak have been amazing today – making the most of opportunities, being super-positive and being awesome friends! However, being out in the elements all day has made for some rather tired children this evening! After a collective vote by the children on tonight’s activity, a unanimous decision was made to have a movie night! They are currently all hunkered down in their PJ’s enjoying a film whilst the wind and rain continues outside!
