Year 5 Residential: Day 2 – Making Memories!

We have had the most epic day here at Grittleton! It really has been one of those truly memorable days that all of us will remember for a long time! We began the day with a big breakfast before the world famous room inspectors arrived! There were lots of Impressive teddy displays and well-organsied bedrooms on show this morning! Then we were off… archery, aero-ball, climbing, water-wars, hover boarding and body-zorbs were the order of the day and the children threw themselves into the activities with such energy and enthusiasm! They all pushed themselves, using their growth-mindset to take risks and try new things! The way the children encouraged and supported one another and showed such determination and perseverance was a real pleasure to see.  We headed back to our rooms for a brief rest before our evening activity and were treated to a show from some of the girls: a medley of songs from Annie!

We finished our day with the most amazing campfire. The children sang and danced the evening away, releasing all inhibitions, creating an atmosphere of sheer joy! Finally, after half an hour of drinking hot chocolate and stargazing, we headed back to the house! It didn’t take long for Team Rowan to settle down for a well-earned sleep tonight!
