During our forest school day, we had major excavations on Aldbourne Regis. The theme of the day was Great Britain and we shared ideas of what makes our island so special. We covered knowledge of trees and animals as well as good and famous people.
Some children were lighting the fire ready for us to make our own charcoal, a traditional craft, from the willow. Some of us enjoyed face painting our whole face in black when the charcoal was cool enough – many others enjoyed a slightly less dense covering!
Later we cooked lots and lots of popcorn which we really enjoyed eating!
