What an amazing day we have all had together! Team Oak have been utterly outstanding, making amazing memories and being so kind, understanding and supportive to one another along the way! After a lovely breakfast of pancakes, two groups headed out for a canoeing adventure along the Brecon and Monmouth Canal… The route consisted of super-long tunnels, lots of interactive team games, the occasional capsized boat and a lovely riverside picnic halfway through the adventure. To celebrate paddling many miles, our canoe teams enjoyed a splash in the canal at the end of their journey (if they wanted to… although some of us didn’t have a choice!!) Team three headed off to the amazingly beautiful caves of Porth Yr Ogof, here they tackled the infamous letterbox, lowered themselves vertically into a pitch-black water chamber (known as the washing machine!) and navigated a knee-high subterranean river as it crashed through the underground tunnels. I can’t tell you how much courage, resilience and perseverance this adventure takes… we’re all super-proud of our awesome team!
