Oak Class – Adventures @ Pencelli: Day 2

Today has been absolutely epic! After a hearty breakfast our three groups headed off for their next adventures. Two groups went climbing and the other group headed into some deep dark caves! The climbers ventured up to a spectacular limestone quarry where they began with some bouldering before tackling the spectacular rock faces. Our other group hiked through Craig y Cilau nature reserve before climbing up to the spectacular Eglwys Faen (Welsh for Stone Church!) All children have really challenged themselves, shown great determination and supported each other unbelievably brilliantly – we couldn’t be more proud of them! This evening, after time to chill (or a pampering session in some cases!) we all tackled the amazing ‘dingle descent’ where we followed a roped trail down a rocky ravine full of waterfalls and pools for over an hour! It’s such a brilliant challenge and everyone loved it! After a warm drink and some bedtime stories, the gang are all now fast asleep!
