Inspired by Part 2 of The Arrival, we got in role as characters leaving home in search of a better life during English this week. We invented characters by using props and dress-up then we completed ‘Application for Residence’ forms before boarding a ship (built from our classroom tables and OPAL equipment) for the long journey! On board, children thought about what the people fleeing their country might feel like and what body language they would demonstrate. We then spoke and acted in role before queuing up to get our applications processed! There was some amazingly inventive characters and awesome acting on show! What an imaginative and creative bunch! Super proud!
