Elder’s Visit To The Church Bells!

We in Elder class were so lucky to have had the chance to climb the church tower during our ‘house day’! First we explored the church and all of its history, listening to facts and interesting stories from the wonderful volunteers who took the time to show us around.

And then it was time to go up!! We made our way up the narrow steps of the church tower until we reached the bells. Alongside more interesting facts and discussions, we took a look around and explored the surroundings. “It was SO cool seeing it all from the other side of the window!”

Soon after, we entered the room where the bell ringers go. The ropes were so long and really strong. The volunteers had 2 model bells to show us how it worked, and we learnt all about ‘the sally’ which is a type of equipment used for bell ringing.

Listen out next time you hear the church bells – You never know, it might be us!

A great experience for us all, we had a great time.
