What a wonderful morning we had in the churchyard today finding out all about the creatures who call it home. Reverend Rhona and Emily started off the procedings with a song and a prayer and we then had a chance to look at and handle a variety of moths. We also worked as nature detectives looking for clues as to which nocturnal animals had visited the churchyard – we found paw prints for hedgehogs and mice as well as cats and snails! We enjoyed looking under slates and some of us saw slow worms and insects. Finally we hunted for stones which when put in the right order reminded us of a passage in the Bible that asks us to take care of God’s world.
