A colder session in the forest this week for Cherry.

Wednesday afternoon came around quickly this week for Cherry class but how glad were they! It was Forest School day!!!!

Today, they began their teamwork challenge getting the two hoops around the circle. This week a different side won. They are hoping to be even quicker next week.

Once in the woods the children were put into 4 teams and given a bird stick. Around the forest were worms in the colour of their string on their stick. They had to set off around the woods to find their ‘worms’ as if they were birds hunting for food in the winter. They had so much fun hunting for their worms and really worked well together in their teams.  This taught them how hard it is for birds to get food during these colder months.

After this, they could go and explore in the forest. As always, children were busy digging, building dens, hunting for various things in the forest, swinging in hammocks, making tools and swinging on the swings. Towards the end of the session, the children enjoyed a delicious hot chocolate and a biscuit!
