St Michael’s Weekly Post
29th September 2023
Happy St Michael’s Day from us all! We have had a day full of celebrations today, finishing with a lovely service in the church, where Cherry Class received their Bibles. These Bibles will stay with them throughout their time at St Michael’s which is a lovely tradition we have here at our school. Oak Class were also awarded their leadership badges – a huge well done to everyone.
Following last week’s successful Year 6 Residential, this week saw Year 5 head off to Braeside for two nights. The class have tackled climbing poles, navigated through woodlands to Oliver’s Castle and tried their hand at canoeing on the canal. The children have made us incredibly proud demonstrating their kindness and helpfulness towards each other, many a positive comment was made by the Braeside staff so well done everyone. Please have a look at the blog on our website to hear more about their trip.
Junk Modelling
If anyone has anything we could use for junk modelling in school we would gratefully take them off your hands! Cardboard tubes, small boxes, interesting packaging, corks, pine cones, buttons and old ribbons could all be put to good use. Please donate anything you might have, with the exception of polystyrene, please, into the school office.
Welly Walk – Wednesday 18th October
On Wednesday 18th October the children will be taking part in our annual Welly Walk around the school grounds for an afternoon, raising money for our school. It’s a fun event, with the whole school walking in their wellies, that children should all have in school (or something suitable) around the school field… whatever the weather! After the walk the PTA will greet the children with a warming hot chocolate. Children will finish school at the usual time. Details in the letter attached. https://www.justgiving.com/campaign/welly-walk-2023
