Year 3 and 4 had an exciting day as they stepped back to 3.200 AD to be introduced to the Ancient Egyptians.
In the morning, they became Egyptian fashion icons by creating their own Egyptian fashion items.
Here are our fashion icons:
Before lunch, they had an exciting competition to see who could mummify their friend the quickest.
Then, this afternoon the children were witnesses to the Ancient Egyptian tradition of embalming where some mysterious and unknown high priests talked them through the process of mummification. From the removal of organs such as the lungs and liver to the wrapping of the body, children saw with their own eyes a ‘real’ life version of this intriguing ceremony. What great excitement!
How lucky are our children to have a great first week back!
