Today we enjoyed a session combining History, English and Art to create black-out/found poetry… First we started to develop an understanding of what The Blitz must have been like by reading a text whilst being surrounded by the unmistakable sounds of air raid sirens, low flying planes and explosions. After that, we re-read the text, picking our powerful words and phrases which we combined to create thought-provoking and moving poems. Finally, we used our design skills to turn the text and ‘found-poem’ into a piece of art…
