Oak Class: Forest School!

What a difference a week makes! Last Friday was super-wet; in the midst of Storm Claudia we wrapped ourselves in waterproofs and headed up into the woods where created shelters to keep us a little dry! Although the rain get coming, we were determined to light a fire and 2 of our group were unbelievably resilient – demonstrating perseverance and skill to eventually get a fire going which we all huddled round! We braved the rain and enjoyed the tree swings, created dens, made clay models and enjoyed stomping around in the mud as well as some water play!

This week was a beautiful autumn day where we had a wonderfully calm afternoon enjoying the bright sunshine! A group of boys enjoyed their time whittling by the fire, demonstrating great carving skills and just having a lovely time thoughtfully chatting about life. Others made dens or made some amazing creations via finger knitting and enjoyed climbing trees. We finished the session eating smores and drinking hot chocolate whilst listening to a nature-inspired folk tale.
