Hazel and Birch classes have had the most wonderful day at Westonbirt Arboretum. The sun shone and all the children embraced the joy of being in such a enormous, beautiful place!
We were treated to lots of mini workshops where we found 0ut about different types of trees, discovered the secret lives of moles and squirrels, acted out the life of a tree and even made some smelly shakes! It was wonderful to see the children really applying all of their science knowledge – our leader from Westonbirt was very impressed with everyone’s knowledge of plants and trees!
We then had some free time to explore the incredible arboretum including lots of tree climbing and lots of running! We even managed to find the Gruffalo and many other characters from Julia Donaldson’s book!
A huge thank to all of the parent volunteers who came with us – it wouldn’t be possible to take the children on these trips without you all.
We’re confident that everyone will sleep well tonight (including the grown-ups!)
