St. Michael’s Big Tidy

On Friday 29th March, all the pupils (except Year 6 who were on a sports tournament) and those attending Pre-School, donned gloves and carefully scoured the school premises for any rubbish.  This activity was organised by the School Council as part of the Schools Eco Award, Bronze Award application.

It was brilliant seeing the whole school community working together to collect and sort the rubbish that was found.  Altogether, we collected 7 bags of rubbish, including 1 bag of plastics and 2 items of aluminium, which were sent for recycling.

The School Council are hopeful that this will become a regular activity as part of the on-going Eco Award status.
