PE, Forest School and model rainforest homes in Elm Class

Another very busy week in Elm class. We enjoyed a day of PE on Tuesday, where we competed in an “extreme” Rock, Paper, Scissors tournament, tried out orienteering and learnt to play footgolf, where the children devised their own ways to challenge themselves. With some really interesting results!

This week, we have been thinking about rainforests. We used junk modelling to have a go at constructing rainforest houses, built on stilts to protect from rain and predators. Some children displayed a real flair for architecture – walls were carefully measured, roofs carefully angled… Very impressive!

As always, we’ve been really enjoying spending time in the woods. This week, some children set up  cafes, serving hot drinks and food (of sorts…) and taking payment in leaves! Sliding down the mudslide has also remained extremely popular!
