Oak Class @ Pencelli – Day 3

Today was all about the water! All 3 groups headed out on different courses along the Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal. Some groups travelled through the very long and dark Ashford Tunnel, others headed over the River Usk on a really cool aqueduct and everyone had such fun learning new skills, working in different teams and taking in he spectacular views! One group even stopped for lunch with Rev. Sue whose canal boat was moored up along their route! After completing around 6-7km on the canal, teams enjoyed a splash around in the water (if they wanted to!). Even the adults ended up in the canal at various points! 2 were unceremoniously pushed in when celebrating the end of their voyage and one person (who’ll remain nameless) rather embarrassingly capsized earlier in the day (but Miss Gandolfo took it all in her stride and has just about dried off!). Our evening activity was a super-fun and rather exhausting scavenger hunt around Pencelli and we finished the day by practising our Soda Pop dance… as you do!
