Today, Year 1 and 2 had a Geography day exploring the countries and capital cities of the United Kingdom.
They started the day learning that the United Kingdom is made of up England, Northern Island, Scotland and Wales. Then, they learnt about their capital cities, which are, London, Belfast, Edinburgh and Cardiff.
After that, the children were put in their houses and spent the day exploring the 4 countries.
England/London- They went to Wimbledon and learned skills to become a Tennis player.
Scotland/Edinburgh- They learnt a scottish dance.
Wales/Cardiff- They baked Welsh cakes and then ate them… Delicious!!
Northern Ireland/Belfast- They made the Giants Causeway out of paper and clay.
What a super fun day!
