Festive Fun Run 2020 Adults and families can do this THROUGHOUT DECEMBER IN THEIR OWN TIME!!

The Santa Dash Aldbourne Festive Fun Run is back to enjoy for another year! Last time we did this we all got together and had a lovely time en masse celebrating the opening of our all weather running track. This year, as with everything, we’re doing things a little bit differently…
The children will all run the 3km Festive Fun Run in school hours on Thursday 17th December. They are encouraged to wear something with a hint of Christmas on the day – it could be a Christmas jumper or a Santa hat, or just a bit of tinsel in their hair! They will run around our neighbouring farmer’s field 4 times safely in their class bubbles and be greeted at the end with a gingerbread medal to congratulate them on their achievement.
Not only will every child participate in the event but they are also going to an online pantomime in the last week of term! If you feel able to donate £5 for your child that will go towards the fundraising we are doing for our new forest school building this year then that would be amazing. You can either donate in any number of ways!!
1) online on the PTA page of the school (https://www.stmichaelsaldbourne.co.uk/our-school/who-we-are/st-michaels-aldbourne-pta/)  via the paypal link on the same page
3) by scanning the QR code on the PTA page
4) by bringing in £5 in an envelope addressed to “PTA”
5) by going to www.aldbourne5kfunrun.co.uk and donating £5 via the Paypal link there
6) by scanning the QR code on any of the posters around the village and donating £5 via the Paypal link
SO, it seems a bit unfair that just the kids get to have all the fun! If you all want to GET INVOLVED and to DO IT AT ANY POINT IN DECEMBER to take part there is a 3km route around the village, it starts on the Village Green by the Christmas tree and is signposted with lovely signs and tinsel all around the village. If you do it with your family all dressed in your Christmas best send us a photo to aldbourne5kfunrun@gmail.com and we’ll publish your lovely faces on the Facebook site to encourage others to participate!
We are hoping that families will find their own way to do it throughout the Christmas period, it can be as leisurely or speedy as you wish, but it should be safe and socially distanced as you can do it any time you want! Please do go online to donate – every person who donates £5 will be making a big difference to us. If every child can encourage a neighbour / aunty / grandma / cousin to do a 3k wherever they love, to send us a photo and to donate £5 online we will double / triple / quadruple our fundraising! This is the year of the virtual event – do partake in it and be part of something with your community, and we’ll be back next year doing it all together again!
