Easter Gardens (and more) in Acorn Class

This week we have been focussing on our RE question: Why do Christians put a cross in the Easter Garden? To help us learn we found out about Jesus arrival in Jerusalem and that not everyone was happy to see him. We found out that he died on the cross and his friends placed the body in a cave with a round stone to cover it. We also learned that he came back to life and an angel rolled away the stone. To help us learn we looked at props from different parts of the story, watched the donkey’s tale and acted out the story. The children were especially inspired to make their own Easter gardens and everyone asked for their own cross to put in it. In the forest the children enjoyed their fire and smores!
