We’ve had a very busy and productive week in Elder Class!
In Maths this term, we have been learning about fractions. It has been quite challenging, but we have shown great determination and worked hard to develop our understanding of both proper and improper fractions.
In English, we are exploring the book ‘Hidden Figures’ and have begun writing our own biographies. We are really enjoying learning about inspiring individuals and developing our writing skills.
In Science, we have started our new topic on solids, liquids and gases. On Thursday, we took our learning outside for a fun and interactive activity, where we worked in groups to represent solids, liquids and gases. We demonstrated how particles behave in each state, showing the differences in how closely bonded they are.
We finished our week with a wonderful, sunny afternoon in the forest. We began by identifying trees around the field and forest, discovering a wide variety and ticking many off our list.
After that, we got busy with a range of activities, including working with clay, building dens, fire lighting, making God’s eyes and whittling. Mr Jarvis and Mrs Lodge were even invited to a forest school wedding, which was very entertaining!
What a fantastic way to end a brilliant week—well done, Elder Class!
