DT in Elder Class!

In DT, we’re continuing our journey into the exciting world of pneumatics and mechanisms. We began by exploring how pneumatic systems work and investigating all the places we use them in everyday life – from bus doors and dentist chairs to fairground rides and more. After developing our understanding, we were given our design brief: To design and create a toy, using pneumatics to entertain a small child.

Over the last few sessions, we’ve been busy sketching ideas, experimenting with different mechanisms and this week we started creating prototypes of our toys. This will help us test what works well, what needs tweaking, and how we can improve our designs before we begin making our final product.

We can’t wait to construct our final toys, which we will be delivering to Acorn Class later in the term!
