We had an awesome day developing our food technology skills on Wednesday. First we compared and evaluated spices before trying out some existing products – tasting a range of curries including korma, balti and madras! Next we learnt about food safety and hygiene before we designed and created our own curries! After following a recipe to create a base sauce, we experimented with different flavour combinations before choosing our favourite. Then we thought about texture by adding vegetables. After that, we developed our simmering and reducing skills before finally serving our curries, complete with pilau rice and naan bread! Delicious!
