As part of our topic day, introducing A View From A Window, St Michael’s thought about how they might compose music to show everything that might be heard while standing at the window. We explored how we could use glockenspiels, body percussion, found objects and other percussion instruments to create the sound of a rural landscape. We heard the church bells, the birds whistling in the trees, the falling rain and chickens clucking and scratching around the farmyard. Bees buzzed and crickets chirped and the wind whistled through the leaves. There were some fantastic compositions – well done, St Michael’s!
