Year 3 and Year 4 had the most amazing Ancient Egyptian Day. The excitement when the children entered the building could be heard through the school. They loved looking at each others costumes.
The children were split into two groups. The children were either with Mr Everitt creating their very own scarab beetles or with Miss James exploring Pyramids and making their very own. They then switched over.
In the afternoon, the children had an exciting challenge to mummify someone in their group. We think they did a fab job! We couldn’t choose a winner.
After this, they received the news that a Phaoroah had died and his body needed to be mummified. The children had to enter the hall in silence to witness an embalming ceremony. The children were on the edge of their seats the whole ceremony.
What a fab day!
