Today, Year 1 learned about bulbs and the different parts of a plant. The children talked about what bulbs are and how plants grow, and learned to name the main parts of a plant, such as the roots, stem, leaves and flower.
During Busy Time, the children explored these ideas further. They made Garden Centres, created flowers using junk modelling and some children began writing books about the life cycle of plants. It was a good opportunity for them to use their learning in practical and creative ways.
