Birch and Hazel classes investigate the Aldbourne Great Fire

The children of Hazel and Birch were lucky enough to go on walk around Aldbourne today to learn all about the Aldbourne Great Fire of 1777.

We learnt how the fire started, why it spread so quickly and what happened in Aldbourne in the years that followed as a result of the fire.  The children were thrilled to then be allowed in to the church to meet Adam and Eve and try on an antique fire helmet.

We are so grateful to our lovely friends at the Aldbourne Heritage Group who have, once again, shared their time, expertise and passion with the children.

What a great way to round off the week!
