Acorn Class is learning about ‘the dark’

We have had a great start to the new term this week. Acorn Class have come back with a positive attitude to their learning.

On Tuesday we read the story Whatever Next, the children were inspired to create their own rockets like Baby Bear’s using junk modelling. We also thought about the different things we might take to space with us.

This term in the forest we will be learning about nocturnal animals. On Wednesday the children listened carefully to the story Owl Babies and noticed that owls come out at night to hunt for food and sleep or rest during the day. We also explored how to safely use peelers to peel bark off green sticks. Some children collected twigs and sticks to build a bonfire. The mud kitchen was extremely popular, there was cucumber and mud pie, bread, snail soup and hot chocolate on the menu!
