6th November 2020
Welcome back to Term 2! We hope everyone had a lovely half term break before coming back to school during these different times. During this national lockdown we want to reassure parents and carers that as a school we are taking all necessary steps to protect our children and staff. We are also thrilled that schools are able to remain open at this time which we feel is absolutely in the best interest of the children and their futures.
Parents Evening Next Week (Monday to Wednesday)
Thank you to those who have already booked parents evening appointments for next week. If you haven’t already booked your appointment, please do so through ParentMail. Should you have any difficulty in doing this please call the school office.
Parents evening appointments will be via phone this year, rather than face to face. Teachers will call you from either a school phone number or as an “Unknown Caller”. They will call the phone number we have on our records for you or the phone number you added to the comments section when you made your appointment. If you would like us to call an alternative phone number, please let your teacher know via ClassDojo.
At the start of the call please let the teacher know if they are on speaker phone and if so, who is in the room. We recognise that during the national lockdown the whole household are likely to be at home and it is useful to know if your child/children are listening to the call.
Teachers will endeavour to stick to the 10 minute appointment, however sometimes it is necessary for an appointment to overrun. The teacher will therefore call you as quickly as possible following their previous appointment.
Remembrance Sunday
Thank you to everyone who has kindly donated to the Poppy Appeal this week. This afternoon (Friday 6th November) poppies and other merchandise (rulers, wrist bands, pencil sharpeners, etc.) will be available for a donation at the school gates. Please continue to follow social distancing guidelines.
Information regarding local commemorations are attached. We will also be observing the two minutes silence on 11th November in school.
Home learning whilst self-isolating
If your child is required to self-isolate could we please ask that as well as informing the school office of the requirement to stay at home, could you please also message your class teacher on ClassDojo. The class teacher will then be able to share home learning details with you via this platform.
House Day – Message from Four Barrows House Captains – Children in Need
The Four Barrows House Captains would like to share with you that on 13th November 2020 there will be a Four Barrows House Day to raise money for Children in Need. We would love it if children could bring in £1 to come in wearing spots or something Pudsey related. There will also be activities for your child to participate at home and during the day which we ask that children donate another £1 to do these activities.
The games are ‘dress up your teddy’ at home (a video will be on Class Dojo to explain this)
Act your age challenge
Guess the name of the teddy bear
Thank you
