St Michael’s Weekly Post – 28th April 2023

28th April 2023

This week we had a planned visit from the Local Authority.  We received wonderful feedback regarding the learning behaviour of the children, how the environment supports the learning and how inclusive we are. Our visitor shared that she felt St Michael’s is a very special place, echoing our thoughts.

Coronation Celebration – Friday 5th May

Next Friday will be an exciting day as we will be celebrating King Charles III Coronation.   We ask that children come to school in red, white and blue, a splash of one or all is fine (please don’t buy anything especially). Children will be making their own crowns, ready for a procession around The Green at 2:30pm.  The whole school community are welcome to come and enjoy the event. This will be in place of celebration assembly.

For the crown making, in an effort to reuse and recycle, if you have any newspaper, beads, button, gems, feathers and old costume jewellery we would appreciate it in school, please.

Brass Lessons

As the next two Mondays are Bank Holidays, brass lessons will take place on Fridays instead. Please ensure that the children bring their instruments and music into school on Friday 5th May and Friday 12th May.   On Monday 15th May brass lessons will go back to Monday.

Brass Ensemble

Moving forward, Brass Ensemble will take place on Wednesdays.  Can children please bring their instruments on Wednesdays.

Flowers for Potion Making

Acorn class would love any dead flowers or cuttings for potion making.  If you have any that you would otherwise be putting in the bin, please feel free to pop these next to our statue by the front door. Thank you.

Message from the PTA:

Bag2school – Please have a rummage around your homes for spare clothes, bags, shoes, soft toys that can be donated and earn the school some money.  Please bring your donations to school by 9am on Wednesday 10th May and drop them off by the front gate.   Unfortunately, we are unable to store any bags before the collection date. The more we give, the more money is raised for the school.  Further detail attached.

Messages from St Michael’s Church:

Everyone is invited to join Muddy Church on Sunday 30th April. All ages/abilities welcome and dogs are invited too. Please find further detail attached.
