Today, Four Barrows held a House Day to raise money for Water Aid. This was in memory of our wonderful TA, Mrs Godwin, who passed away last year. Children came to school in non-uniform, wearing a splash of green (Four Barrows House colours), white and blue. They also brought along a dressed up teddy. We have fabulous weather, which will be perfect for our teddy bears picnic later this afternoon. We do hope parents are able to join us at 2:45pm.
A big thank you to all those who have made cakes, they look amazing.
On Tuesday, we had a whole school special assembly where children were reminded of the importance of respect, one of our school values. Children discussed what makes St Michael’s such a special place, for example, the kindness of others, the environment, how we look after everyone and our resources we use, politeness and the respect we show for one another.
As part of our Outdoor Learning and Play project, we have a wonderful new allotment on the school field. Aldbourne Community Gardens have generously helped build the allotment and have donated soil, vegetables and plants. We now have strawberries, potatoes, beans and sunflowers growing. We want to say a huge thank you to Aldbourne Community Gardens.
In advance of Children’s Day, 2nd June, Willows children celebrated with another special meal and celebrated different cultures, including China and Ukraine. Thank you ALDBOURNE KITCHEN, with the help of Suxia and Yuliia for an amazing meal.
Lunchtime Explorer and Adventurer Clubs
Due to the popularity of Explorers Club we will be starting a new group called Adventurers for children in Years 4 and 5, meeting on Friday lunchtimes. Explorers will become restricted to Years 2 and 3, allowing more space for fun and games. During Term 6 Adventurers will be looking at the bible’s answers to our big questions about ‘who am I?’

Please make all lunch bookings for next term via the Lataca ParentMail app. Attached is the menu for next term.
Sun Hats and Sun Cream
As a reminder, we are starting to enjoy sunny weather. Children should have a named sun hat in school every day and sun cream should be applied in the morning, before school. Children can have a named bottle of sun cream in their bags (for personal use), so they can top up their sun cream should they choose to.
