23rd June 2023
Today, Kennet House Captains have ran another wonderful House Day, raising money for St Anna’s School and Orphanage in Ghana. Children heard from Mrs Stibbard, who shared how she set up the orphanage and how the school has made such a positive impact on children’s lives. Throughout the day, children have also been playing traditional Ghanaian games.
Acorn Class had an amazing experience at Roves Farm on Tuesday. They fed the pigs, went on a tractor ride, made a house for a mouse, stroked many different animals and, of course, had fun in the play area!
On Monday, Key Stage 2 (years 3 – 6) held a music concert to mark the start of International Music Week. We enjoyed performances from Brass Ensemble, Cherry Class cornet players and some children who have music lessons in school. Also, on the music theme, Cherry Class visited Bristol University Music Department this week and had a fantastic time.
As reminder, Monday 26th June is a TD day and Friday is our planned Sports Day (timetable of the sporting events below).
Fiver Challenge – Message from Oak Class
Thank you to those that bought products and services from Oak Class as part of their Fiver Challenge. They will be holding a second school market on the playground on Thursday 29th June, after school. Please join us to buy some tasty cakes, lemonade, get your car washed or get some chores done.
Sun Hats and Sun Cream
Please ensure your child has a named sun hat in school every day and sun cream is applied in the morning, before school. Children can have a named bottle of sun cream in their bags (for personal use), so they can top up their sun cream should they choose to.
